Fueled by a passion for aviation, Richard Mille's designs take flight in his 21st-century approach to watchmaking. The Richard Mille Chronograph is a testament to his ability to create one-of-a-kind, true masterpieces that masterfully combine new materials and horological tradition, as you can see on the RM 50-02.

Caliber RM 50-02 drives a manual winding tourbillon movement with minutes, hours, split-seconds chronograph with running seconds, function and torque indicators, and a 30-minute totalizer and power reserve. Like the Richard Mille Skull Tourbillon, this timepiece runs in limited pieces.

The advanced open-worked design elements on the RM 50-02 were inspired by the exceptional high-end corporate jets built to the personal and exact standards of ACJ customers. This resulted in a Richard Mille Chronograph with a baseplate and bridges made of grade 5 titanium and extensive skeletonization to reduce the weight.

Certain parts within the movement are treated with a special aeronautical coating typically used on chassis and engine parts to protect against environmental aggressions and corrosion. The result is a dramatic and breathtaking technical interior in the split-second chronograph movement. In addition, technical repercussions eliminate the chronograph seconds hand’s initial jump when it starts or stops. The chronograph is also more energy efficient, thanks to the new titanium split-second components that help minimize internal friction.

The tourbillon caliber of the RM 50-02 Richard Mille Chronograph holds a 70-hour power-reserve indicator between 11 and 12 o’clock. Plus, it has a torque indicator to provide details on the mainspring’s tension to optimize the chronometer. The function indicator lets you see the timepiece’s state in each of the hand-setting, neutral, and winding positions at a glance.

RM 50-02 is a Richard Mille Chronograph watch with a remarkable titanium-aluminum alloy case shape and a secondary ceramic bezel resembling the outlines of an ACJ window and its surrounding multi-layered hull structure. Titanium-aluminum is a highly stress-resistant, strong alloy used in Airbus jet turbine blades. Instead of the standard Richard Mille screws on the bezel’s outer edge, the RM 50-02 has the distinctively shaped Torq-set screws® and an engraved crown with a jet-inspired aesthetic and the Airbus’ wave-pattern logo.
